In this section, faculty in colleges and universities will find
curriculum modules that introduce students to the concept of resilience
and to the role that thinking plays in overcoming the inevitable
stress and adversity of life. Showing how our thinking affects
our emotional responses and our coping skills is a good first
step in helping students in early childhood education and other
child-serving professions to develop their own resilience and
to model accurate and flexible thinking for the children and families
they serve.
The RIRO College Curriculum Modules were developed and piloted
by community college faculty in Early Childhood Education programs
in Ontario. The document consists of three modules, each with
instructor notes, classroom and individual activities as well
as handouts, PowerPoints and video materials.
