RIRO RESILIENCY SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM:

This is training that every person, whether working with children or parents, needs in their lives. The adult skills are so important. Maybe the conflicts in the world will reduce if future generations get these skills taught very early in their lives. -HS

More than 2,100 Canadian professionals serving young children have attended the Reaching IN...Reaching OUT (RIRO) resiliency skills training program for frontline workers and managers.

The two-part, 12-hour skills training is being offered in communities throughout Ontario by "Authorized RIRO Trainers" serving the Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) and allied sectors. To find out whether RIRO skills training is available in your area, please contact the project coordinator at: info@reachinginreachingout.com.

RIRO training staff are also available to offer the resiliency skills training to professionals outside the ELCC sector. If your organization would like to host a skills training, please contact the project coordinator at the email address above.

TRAIN-the-TRAINER PROGRAM:

The Train-the-Trainers' program has so much valuable information for us to share. The resiliency skills are so important both professionally and personally. The more we get the word out to professionals the better. -LM

RIRO materials and program are fantastic. The information can be used in so many ways, professionally and personally. -RA

The skills in this training are extremely useful. Many of the skills I will try to teach my staff and work on within myself every day. -LC

Beginning December 2008, RIRO's popular 5-day "train-the-trainer" program is now available on a fee-for-service basis. To obtain more information about the training program, please contact the project coordinator.

In May 2006, the Ontario Trillium Foundation funded the development, evaluation and dissemination of RIRO's "train-the-trainer" program in Ontario. This generous funding allowed 143 training professionals (serving the ELCC and allied sectors) to participate in the 5-day "intensive" training at no charge. The program has prepared trainers to deliver the RIRO skills training program to child-serving professionals and paraprofessionals in their own organizations and communities.
